Dr. Cabras, Director at the Coleoptera Research Center of the University of Mindanao, is among the top 15 leaders and explorers all over the world selected by National Geographic Society to be part of this year’s Early Career Leadership cohort. The cohort consists of 15 Explorers from 13 countries, representing the following regions: Africa, Asia-Pacific, Europe, Latin America, and North America. Dr. Cabras is the only scientist chosen from the Philippines and one of the three scientists from Southeast Asia. Dr. Cabras has a Ph.D. in biology with a focus in systematics and the study of endemic beetles.
