University of Mindanao welcomes delegates of 2nd China-Philippines Youth Exchange

The University of Mindanao gladly hosted delegates and accompanying officials of the Philippines- China Youth Exchange Program last Sept. 20 as part of their stops visiting the different universities in the country. The delegates as well as Jinjiang Vice Mayor Wang Wenhui were met by UM President Dr. Guillermo P. Torres Jr and other university officials, and were able to explore the Matina campus as they were treated to a campus tour and video presentations about the university. Dr. Torres, in his welcome message, said he was optimistic that programs such as the Youth Exchange would last for many years, as it served to nurture ties between the two countries through one of its most important sectors: its youth. Jinjiang is one of the sister cities of Davao city and apart from Vice Mayor Wenhui and other Jinjiang officials, guests also included Mr. Wilson Tan, director of the Overseas Chinese Service Center in Davao, and Mr. Allan Tan, member of the board and secretary general of the Overseas Chinese Service Center in Davao. UM has sent 3 student participants to join this year's two-week youth exchange, which includes cultural tours in select cities in Philippines and China.
