Hundreds answered the call to donate their precious, life-saving blood and trooped to the Professional Schools Building in Matina campus as the University of Mindanao Administrative Employees Association (UMAEA) held the 48th Mobile Blood Donation, Wednesday, Jan.29 from 7am – 12 noon. The annual event is spearheaded by the UMAEA with the support of the school administration and the Department of Health as part of its efforts in working with different sectors to contribute to the region’s blood bank. Medical professionals from the DOH and UM Health Services worked together in screening hopeful donors with the process including a short interview, taking their blood pressure, and recording weight. UMAEA officers and staff were also on hand to distribute meals and snacks for all the participants of the mobile blood donation.
