UM HOLDS PLENARY BRIEFING WITH THE US EMBASSY-MANILA AND PHILIPPINE FULBRIGHT COMMISSION

In pursuit of strengthening its internationalization engagements, the University of Mindanao conducted a plenary briefing for Fulbright programs in partnership with US Embassy-Manila and Philippine Fulbright Commission yesterday at the AVR 2 Matina campus.

Dr. Eugenio S. Guhao. Jr., Chief Academic Officer and Dean of Professional Schools, in his welcome remarks highlighted how the progress and status of the collaborative efforts between the University of Mindanao and the US Embassy and the Fulbright Commission shall set the stage for wider horizons and aspirations.

Dr. Nina Lewis, Public Engagement and Cultural Affairs Officer of the US Embassy in Manila, presented an overview of the PH-US engagements over the years and how cultural and academic exchanges have greatly improved the two countries’ bilateral relations.
Dr. Lewis was joined by Ms. Kimberly Tan, Mr. Matthew Klopp, and Mr. Thomas Vasco from the Education Bureau and Public Engagement units of the US Embassy.

The program was attended by the university’s senior officials, deans and program heads from the main campus and the branches, and faculty and students alumni of the Fulbright programs in UM.
