The University of Mindanao Community Extension Center successfully conducted the fifth session of its Coffee Planting Activity earlier today at the Bagobo Tagabawa Ancestral Domain in Upper Catigan, Toril, Davao City. The activity brought together forty-seven (47) teaching and non-teaching personnel from the College of Hospitality Education, Accounting Office, Office of Student Affairs, Instructional Media Services, and ROTC Office. Through the collective efforts of the participants and with the invaluable support of the Indigenous Peoples (IP) community led by Traditional Tribal Chieftain Datu Lawrence S. Bayocboc, a total of two hundred fifty (250) coffee seedlings were successfully planted, further aligning with SDG 1 (No Poverty) by supporting sustainable income-generating opportunities for the community through coffee production, and SDG 15 (Life on Land) through environmental conservation and ecosystem restoration.
