HERMES Project: Building Service Excellence and Workplace Productivity



As part of its onboarding process, the University of Mindanao conducted the HERMES Project, Building Service Excellence and Workplace Productivity. The whole-day program, which focused on customer satisfaction and service excellence, gathered twenty-five participants on September 24, 2026, at AVR 3, SS Building, UM Bolton Campus.

The program opened with the UMAEA President, Mr. Romeo S. Reginio, Jr.’s welcoming remarks. The morning session featured Dr. Carmencita E. Vidamo’s presentation of The Voice of the Customer: A Customer Satisfaction Feedback Report. Subsequently, Dr. Clarence Joy D. Alcaraz, a Certified Customer Gold Trainer and Associate Professor 1 of the College of Hospitality Education, led the discussion on the Philippine tourism industry, Filipino Brand of Service Excellence, and the 7Ms of Filipino Hospitality and Service Excellence. 

In the afternoon, the session continued with Dr. Alcaraz’s presentation of G.U.E.S.T. Steps to Service Excellence and the H.E.A.R.T. of Service Recovery, emphasizing the importance of delivering quality service, including  responding effectively to service concerns. Dr. Michelle Y. Acledan broadened the discussion by presenting UM’s work productivity, quality assurance, and core values. The program concluded with Evelyn T. Galope’s discussion of the performance evaluation process for non-teaching personnel, highlighting its role in workplace productivity and continuous improvement.
