UM-CHE Tourism Program Head Wins Best Paper Award at International Conference in South Korea
The University of Mindanao – College of Hospitality Education (UM-CHE) proudly celebrates the achievement of Dr. Clarence Joy D. Alcaraz, Program Head of Tourism Management, who received the Best Paper Award during the Academy of Korea Hospitality & Tourism International Conference 2026 held at Sejong University, Seoul, South Korea, on June 13, 2026.
Dr. Alcaraz presented her research entitled, “Revisiting the Tourism-Led Growth Hypothesis in the Philippines: Evidence from the Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) Bound Testing Approach.” Her recognition reflects her dedication to advancing tourism research and exemplifies the University of Mindanao’s core value of Excellence.
Adding to this remarkable accomplishment, Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management (BSTM) students Ryan S. Ceñal and Hannah Mae V. Concoles also presented their respective research papers during the conference. Their participation on the international stage highlights the strong research culture fostered by UM-CHE and demonstrates the academic competence and research excellence of its students.
