UM ramps up internet services in preparation for "the new normal"

The University of Mindanao is upgrading its internet connections in preparation for “the new normal” of online classes and the blended learning modes for the coming school year. To provide outstanding services to our students in the face of the COVID19 pandemic, UM and PLDT are working together to increase the bandwith of Internet connection to supplement subscription for the implementation of online classes. With the online and blended learning, teaching and non-teaching personnel perform transactions with students and clients via online, thus the need for a stronger and more reliable internet service. For its online learning platform, UM has been utilizing for three years running now the Blackboard LMS, which allows teachers and students to utilize online learning tools. The ramped-up connections began its installation around last year and covers the Main and Matina campuses.
