Insects and how they shape our everyday lives: 6th International Lecture with Dr. Radomir Jaskula

The University of Mindanao will play host to an interesting lecture on how everyday insects are shaping human lives and helping us develop our technology and other advancements, on November 6 at AVR 2, Matina campus. Leading the lecture will be Dr. Radomir Jaskula of the University of Lodz in Poland, a scientist specializing in tiger beetles, with a keen interest in zoogeography ( the geographical distribution of animals), ecology, and diversity of beetle species of the Mediterranean Region and the Philippines. Dr. Jaskula will cover the following topics: "Insects in Human Life - From early beginning in African savanna to modern smartphones and building techniques," and "Why study Tiger Beetles in the tropics? An example from the Philippine Biodiversity Hotspot." The lecture is spearheaded by the university's Institute of Natural Science and Innovation Studies under the Research and Publication Center.
