UM reaps awards at PACUCOA 29th General Assembly

Recognition for its programs and special citations for exemplary accomplishments in the past year and in recent months abounded for the University of Mindanao during the Philippine Association of Colleges and Universities Commission on Accreditation (PACUCOA) Assembly last Dec. 4, 2018 in Manila. The university was handed the following awards: university with the 2nd highest number of accredited programs in the country, institution with the highest number of Level 1 programs in the country, institution with the highest number of accredited programs in Region XI, special citation for being a 2017 PQA Awardee, special citation for being the PMAP Best Employer for Mindanao, special citation for producing a Top 1 in the 2018 Criminologist Licensure Exam (UM Digos), and winning first place in the case study competition. UM was awarded the People Management Association of the Philippines- Best Employer for Mindanao Award in June, and the Philippine Quality Award for 2017 last October in grand rites at MalacaƱang Palace with Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte handing it to UM President Dr. Guillermo P. Torres Jr. The university has consistently been complying, and exceeding, the standards set by PACUCOA with regards to its colleges and their programs, as evidenced by several Center of Development and Centers of Excellence in the university.
