Registration and Curricular Guidelines
- A student must enroll for the entire term or semester, as the case may be
- A student may enroll after the lapse of the registration period specified in the approved school calendar, and be admitted for late enrollment, but in no case shall it exceed two (2) weeks after the opening of classes. Thereafter, no further enrollment shall be allowed.
- No student shall be accepted for enrollment unless he/she presents the proper school credentials on or before the end of the enrollment period.
- A student is deemed officially enrolled after he/she has submitted the appropriate admission or transfer credentials; made an initial payment of his/her tuition fee and other fees to the University and was allowed to attend classes.
- Once enrolled, the student shall attend the classes for the subjects enrolled in from the start until the end of the term/semester. A student who fails to attend the classes for the subject without officially dropping the same through the Student Accounting Office (SAO) shall be given a grade of “9.0”(dropped).
- The subject load of a student shall be in accordance with the approved curriculum for each degree program.
- No subject may be taken unless the pre-requisite subjects have been taken and passed.
- Laboratory subjects that are paired with an academic subject should be taken during the same semester as the academic subject even if separate grades are given for both.
- No student shall be allowed to enroll in the fourth year unless the student has already taken and passed all PE and NSTP subjects.

A student is not allowed to take any advanced subject until he/she has satisfactorily passed the pre-requisite subject or subjects. Pre-requisites subjects are those that must be completed to qualify the student for enrollment in subsequent subjects. However, a student may be allowed to simultaneously enroll in pre-requisite and advance classes under the following conditions:
- When the pre-requisite is a repeated subject;
- When the student has superior scholastic standing;
- When the student is graduating at the end of the semester; and
- It is approved by the Dean or
any authorized academic official
(Section 91, MORPHE).
All subjects taken in violation of this regulation shall be invalid and shall not be credited in favor of the student regardless of his/her performance in the subjects.
A student may be allowed to cross enroll in another school only in the following cases:
- the desired subjects are not offered by the University during the term the requesting student’s enrollment; or
- the student intends to spend the summer in his/her hometown outside of Davao City and would like to enroll in some subject/s while he/she is there, provided that, such request is in accordance with the other school’s policy on cross-enrollment.
In any case, the student must first secure a written permission to cross enroll from the Dean and the University Registrar. Otherwise, the subject/s taken in the school where the student cross enrolled without permission will not be credited.
- A graduating student of a non-board program may be permitted an additional load of not more than six (6) units in excess of the normal load specified in the curriculum, provided the total load shall not exceed thirty (30) units.
- A graduating student of a board program (with licensure examination) is not allowed to have an overload.
- Upon request, a graduating student may, on a case-to-case basis, be allowed to take two (2) PE subjects simultaneously in the same semester. The request shall be in writing and indicate the following information:
- Reason/s justifying their failure to take PE in the preceding semesters;
- His/her class schedule and the schedule of the requested classes; and
- The endorsement of the Registrar with the statement “Graduating upon completion of load.” The approval of such request shall be the exclusive prerogative of the University.
- A student is allowed to add/drop subjects to/ from his/her subject load within the first week after the start of regular classes. After the lapse of the prescribed period, no adding/dropping of subjects will be allowed and the student must pay the total fees due for the subjects he /she has enrolled.
- A student who desires to add or drop a subject shall accomplish a Change of Matriculation Form 2 (COMF 2) in two (2) copies for distribution to the Records and Admission Center and his/her File copy.
- The adding or dropping of subjects should comply with the following requirements:
- Pre-Requisite Subject Regulation;
- No dropping of PE, NSTP and back subjects; and
- Laboratory and lecture components must be taken in the same semester.
- Under the term system which the University observes, the school calendar requires nine (9) weeks of classes from Mondays to Saturdays (Saturdays for library works, research and group activities), except for the College of Legal Education, Graduate School and courses covering a period of one semester which require eighteen (18) weeks of classes.
- Students are expected to attend classes regularly. Attendance is counted from the first day of regular classes until the end of the term or semester, as the case may be. Students who incur absences of more than twenty percent (20%) of the prescribed number of class or laboratory periods for the subject during a term or semester shall be given a failing grade.
